A 5 DAY PRIVATE FLYING SAFARI ITINERARY TO MURCHISON FALLS AND  SEMLIKI WILDLIFE RESERVE

Day 1 Flying safari:     Our company representative will meet you at Entebbe International Airport on your arrival and transfer you to Kajjansi Airstrip to meet your private charter plane to Pakuba Airstrip in Murchison Falls National Park. On arrival at Pakuba, you will be welcomed by your safari guide with a cold drink and then after transfer you game viewing along  the way to Paraa safari lodge. Murchison falls National Park derived its name from the Murchison falls where the mighty River Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterized by Savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wild life includes lions, Uganda kobs, chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill.
                 After checking in and having sometime to relax, you will go for an afternoon boat trip along the Nile. This is often cited as being the highlight of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up-close and personal with the animals. Along this stretch of the river, there are reported to be around 4,000 hippos in addition to some enormous Nile crocodiles. The bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. If lucky, you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness.

Day 2 Flying Safari:   After breakfast, we will go for a morning Chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest. This is an undisturbed area of natural forest within Budongo Forest Reserve where you can walk beneath mature mahogany and iron wood trees. Chimpanzee tracking is the most famous activity. You will certainly see many forest birds, including the chocolates-backed Kingfisher, the white-thigh hornbill and puvel's illadopsis found nowhere else in East Africa.

Day 3       After breakfast, you will be transferred to Pakuba Airstrip to meet your private charter plane to Semliki Wild Life Reserve. Our safari guide will meet you at the Airstrip and transfer you to Semliki Safari Lodge. Semliki Wildlife Reserve is situated in the basin of the Western Rift Valley. It is one of the most diverse habitats in Africa with wonderful examples of Riparian forest, gallery rain forest, borassus palm forest, and short and high grass savannas. You will check in at the lodge and after words relax at the side of the pool. 
Following dinner we will go on a night drive. This is the only place in Uganda where you can do a spot lit night drive. You never know what you may see. Often the big cats are sighted as well as the diminutive genet and serval cats. Unusual nocturnal dwellers also show themselves, such as the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant winged nightjars depending on the time of year. There are always surprises on the night drives.

Day 4 Flying Safari:       An early morning rise, tea in your tent, and then you will go down into the beautiful gallery rainforest to track wild chimpanzees. Chimps are tracked by researchers in Semliki at dawn and dusk, as they tend to disappear in the middle of the day. There are also a number of bird species which are found in this picturesque forest. You will return to the lodge for lunch and the chance to relax by the pool and enjoy the tranquility of the Lodge. In the late afternoon you will go for a game drive, stopping along the way to watch the African sun dip below the horizon.

Day 5 Flying Safari:        Following breakfast, you will be transferred to Semliki Airstrip to meet your private charter plane to Entebbe International Airport.
